I was recently asked, “If you could tell a new mom only one thing… what would it be?”
I thoughtfully responded with, “Go with your gut. Not ready for visitors? Don’t have any. Breastfeeding? Great. Formula? Perfect. You know what’s best. Even if you don’t know what you are doing at all.”
Although, this question got me thinking about all of the things I wish I knew the moment I found out I was pregnant with my first baby.
So I came up with…
You totally hit the nail on the head with your top 5! I had my nursery set up before my daughter came home (didn’t use it for 6 months) and totally stressed about bf’ing and formula when she ended up having to be on both because I never produced enough. If I ever have a third (never, hopefully) I will for sure be a lot less stressed about all these things!
Thank you Annmarie! I know, it’s like all this added stress, making “final” decisions on how your going to raise the baby, organizing, assembling… just to find it’s like any other relationship. Gotta meet the baby before thinking you know what it’s going to need. 😉 Although, I don’t think preggo hormones helps the cause.. 🙂
